Prior to joining Sheets Smith in 2012, Mr. Smith spent fourteen years with Cypress Trust Company where he served as President and Chief Investment Officer. He previously was a Senior Vice President at Bessemer Trust Company serving on the Stock Selection and Investment Strategy committees and in the capacity of the Senior Investment Person for Florida. Mr. Smith began his investment career at US Trust in New York City rising to Senior Vice President, Director of the Florida Trust Company, and the Senior Investment Officer for Florida.
Andrew received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Houghton College (New York) and did graduate work in Finance at Fordham Business School.
Andrew enjoys gardening and traveling with his wife, Sally Alice. He also enjoys spending time with his son. Andrew and Sally Alice live in Palm Beach where they are active in the English Speaking Union, a non-profit organization that promotes education, scholarship and understanding. He is a board member of the Salvation Army for Palm Beach County and past board member of Goodwill Industries of South Florida.
